However, although the ground heating is good, but many people do not know much about it. The floor heating is divided into water and electricity. It is also the floor heating. What is the difference between these two kinds of floor heating? Which is better?
Water and ground heating
Water heating, is mainly composed of gas wall hanging furnace, water separator, coil, temperature controller and other auxiliary materials (insulation board, reflecting film, solenoid valve and brass fittings etc) composed of heating system.
When heating, the gas wall hanging furnace consumes gas, heats water, and then transmits hot water to the coil through the water collector. The hot water in the coil will constantly send out heat and raise the temperature of the indoor air.
Electric floor heating
Electric heating, is mainly by heating cable, temperature controller and various auxiliary materials (insulation board, reflective film, etc.) composed of heating system.
In contrast to water heating, electric heating does not require gas wall stoves and water collectors, just like wires buried in the ground. When heating, the electric floor heating consumes electricity, the heating cable will heat up, and then radiates heat to the outside, raising the temperature of the indoor air.
What’s the difference between water ground heating and electric floor heating?
From the above introduction, although two kinds of heating are hidden installed under the ground heating equipment, but it seems that the biggest difference between water and electric heating is only two:
- Water heating consumes gas, electric heating consumes electric energy.

A) Comfort level: similar
Many people think that the comfort of water heating is higher than that of electric heating, in fact, two kinds of heating is through heat radiation, from the ground to transfer heat, can adjust the temperature through the temperature controller, so on the comfort level are similar, they are better than the heating effect of radiator, air conditioning.
If you want to be more comfortable, there may be only one difference between the two kinds of floor heating, electric floor heating faster, flexible and accurate temperature control, water floor heating has a lag, the response is not so fast. Of course, the electric floor heating is fast, cooling and heat dissipation is fast, and the constant temperature is not like the water floor heating, so the overall comfort is almost the same.
B) Comparison of installation and cost: water heating > electric heating
In the installation and purchase cost, the water heating is higher than the electric heating, the electric heating is simpler than the water heating in the composition, there is no need for wall hanging furnace and water separator, the cost of water heating is mainly concentrated on the wall hanging furnace, just the wall hanging furnace, may be ten thousand yuan.

C) Safety comparison: Similar
Many people think that electric heating is not safe, there is the possibility of leakage. Some people think that water heating is not safe, there is the possibility of water leakage and air leakage, the boiler will explode. But in fact, in terms of safety, water and ground heating and electric floor heating are similar. The floor height occupied by electric heating is about 5cm (insulation board 2cm, heating cable 0.7cm, cement layer 2cm), and the floor height occupied by water heating is about 6.6cm (insulation board 2cm, coil 1.6cm, cement layer 2cm).
